The Best Gluten Free Travel Snacks

Traveling while eating gluten free is not the easiest challenge in the world. It is a lot simpler than years past, however. I definitely found a street food vendor in Thailand a few times that didn’t speak a lick of English but when I tried asking about flour and wheat, they say, “ooooh gluten free” in that cute little Asian accent of theirs. My go to for short trips has always been to pack a bunch of my favorite gluten free travel snacks for emergency sustenance.

A brand that has really peaked my interest lately is Enjoy Life Foods. It really is like they were made for me.

They produce a wide variety of allergy-friendly snacks and baking mixes. What does this mean? I’m happy you asked!

It means that Enjoy Life Foods is dedicated to providing products that are free from the eight common allergens: gluten/wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish, and shellfish.

There are millions of people out there with multiple food allergies and it can get extremely challenging for those of us looking to keep multiple food groups out of our diets at the same time. I’ve actually been told by airlines that I had to pick which meal I wanted between vegan (then I know it has no egg), gluten free or nut free, I couldn’t do all three! I replied would you like me to shit my pants, ruin my trip from being bedridden or die from anaphylaxis because those are my options then.

You can see why discovering Enjoy Life Foods for all my gluten free travel snack needs is a gold mine then!

I tested a few out on my recent trip to Colombia and on the Fathom cruise to the Dominican Republic and here are my favorite and arguably best they have to offer!

Enjoy Life Baked Chewy Bars: Caramel Apple

These have been my favorite go to gluten free travel snack. They don’t get easily mushed up in a bag and they are good for suppressing your hunger until you can get to a safe place for your next meal. They also come in a few other flavors: chocolate, sunflower seed butter, and mixed berry. I am definitely trying to sunflower seed butter ones next!

Although chips and salty crunchy snacks aren’t usually hard for me, potato chips are technically gluten free usually depending on the seasoning, having a slightly healthier option isn’t a bad thing! These come in some great flavors including pizza and dill & sour cream and make you feel a bit less guilty if you need a salty fix.

Enjoy Life Handcrafted Crunchy Cookies

I am not typically a hard cookie fan. There is something about a mushy cookie that really gets me. But somehow I found myself returning to my box of Vanilla Honey Graham Crunchy Cookies over and over again. I even brought them to work a few times and non gluten free people were digging in. They tend to travel a bit better than mushy cookies and really help to kick a sweets craving anywhere you may be!

Enjoy Life Not Nuts Seed & Fruit Mix

This one got me good.

It is next to impossible to find a pre-made trail mix that doesn’t have nuts in it. Sure, I could be a regular old girl scout and make my own but who has time for that!? These mixes are absolutely phenomenal for a healthy gluten free travel snack on the go! They even come in two sizes, a portioned out little packet and mega bag that saves you money in the long run. Even if you are a nut lover you’ll love these mixes!

I’m really excited to try out their baking mixes because they are designed to not need an egg! Try making fluffy, delicious brownies without an egg, I dare ya! After 6 years, I still have not figured it out!

This post is brought to you in partnership with Enjoy Life Foods, as always, all thoughts are my own!
