Blogger’s don’t really get vacation time. There’s no such thing as paid time off or even sick leave. Even when I go to the beach I’m still checking my emails and composing posts in my head. I’ve been working pretty much nonstop for several years now, and most of the time I don’t mind because I freaking love doing what I do.
But if there is one thing worth taking time off for, it’s your own wedding right? So consider this my notice. For the next week and a half I will be anywhere but here. This Saturday I’m getting married and next week I’ll be enjoying that fact and not writing a word.
For the past year I’ve been fighting with this wedding tooth and nail. I’ve grappled with budget issues, family issues, logistical issues, and now it’s time to get go of all that. As of today, Tuesday, I’m giving up, giving in and going wherever this wedding takes me. I’m going to relax and enjoy the day, my family and my new husband.
Afterwards Mike and I are cocooning in a swanky hotel downtown for a few days, unplugging and decompressing. Then we pretty much go straight into packing up for Mexico (I’ll be taking a second week off at the beginning of October while we do the relocation thing). It’s a busy busy month for us and part of me just can’t wait to get to Mexico and freaking relax!
I’m not leaving you guys totally in the lurch though. I’ve sourced some really interesting and awesome blog posts from some of my favorite new bloggers. They’ll be running next week so be sure to check in on that.
I should be back on the 22nd, hopefully with some swanky wedding pictures to share! Then we’re back on the road again come October 3rd.
