Wanderful

In my traveling life and the path that has led me to where I am today, working fully location independently while seeing the world, there was definitely a turning point for me.

On a whim, I purchased a ticket to the Women in Travel Summit in Boston in 2014. I had done a little traveling at this point and was just starting to think about making my blog into something more substantial but had no idea where to start.

Pre WITS press trip around the Temecula Wine Region with some AMAZING ladies!

I walked into this conference not knowing anyone, except some of my blogging idols, and took a chair in the far back of the room with only one other woman at the table.

The sheer magnitude and buzz of having 500 women in a room that all had the same love of travel as I did was so inspiring. Neither my friends nor my family were really of the same mindset so just finding like-minded women and ultimately friends was huge for me.

This conference was put on by an incredible organization, Wanderful. Finding WITS and ultimately Wanderful was like finally finding where I belonged. There were other women out there trying to forge their own path and trying to see the world just as fiercely as I was.

Trying to help sell Milwaukee for the next year’s conference location….. spoiler alert, they WON!

I haven’t missed a WITS conference since that first one, and hopefully never will! I’m actually speaking at this year’s in Milwaukee, and you can book an individual mentoring session with me if you’d like! Check it out here.

Anyways, why am I telling you all of this?

Well, Wanderful just did something very badass. They just relaunched their website and brand and added the World’s First Homesharing Network exclusively for women. Their goal is to bring, safe, reliable accommodation options to women all over the globe!

Wanderful has always been about connecting women from all over the globe, from meetups and trips to conferences and an online network, they’ve been bridging the gaps of location and demographics for awhile now.

This awesome network is part of a paid Global Membership which grants you access to connections to women from across the globe! I’ve been a part of this network for the past year myself, and I just love the support and open arms that make it up!

Additional perks of the Global Membership include:

  1. I just learned a few weeks ago about Wanderful through my local chapter on Meetup.com, and was intrigued to learn more. Reading your post convinces me even more that I would love to be a part of their community and attend WITS someday!

  2. Rachel Malone says:

I cannot attend the summit as I’ll be moving that weekend but this global membership sounds like a great way to keep women safe and letting them have fun!

  3. great giveaway! when I first started my travel blog 3 years ago, I wrote a post about industry networking groups I had found valuable so far (around 3/4 months in), and when I hadn’t heard of Wanderful yet, lots of ladies let me know in the comments what I was missing out on!

it was really fun to see so many people recommend the same group — and now I’m finally going to WITS this year! would love to have an official membership 😎

  4. I am in love with traveling and would love to connect with other like minded women travelers to expand my network to help aid in my future travels!

  5. This is so fantastic! I love that Wanderful is doing this! There are so many of us solo female travelers that need to find reliable accommodations. It’s also great that you were able to be around so many women who have the same passion for traveling!
