In my traveling life and the path that has led me to where I am today, working fully location independently while seeing the world, there was definitely a turning point for me.
On a whim, I purchased a ticket to the Women in Travel Summit in Boston in 2014. I had done a little traveling at this point and was just starting to think about making my blog into something more substantial but had no idea where to start.
I walked into this conference not knowing anyone, except some of my blogging idols, and took a chair in the far back of the room with only one other woman at the table.
The sheer magnitude and buzz of having 500 women in a room that all had the same love of travel as I did was so inspiring. Neither my friends nor my family were really of the same mindset so just finding like-minded women and ultimately friends was huge for me.
This conference was put on by an incredible organization, Wanderful. Finding WITS and ultimately Wanderful was like finally finding where I belonged. There were other women out there trying to forge their own path and trying to see the world just as fiercely as I was.

Anyways, why am I telling you all of this?
